Structured training
Structured training is an essential element of the entry routes for Institution membership. It demonstrates members have a satisfactory level of knowledge and skills through a systematic training and development programme. This brings career benefits to members and recognition by employing organisations.
Continuing professional development (CPD)
Continuing professional development is the systematic maintenance, improvement and broadening of knowledge and skill, and the development of personal qualities necessary for the execution of professional and technical duties throughout working life.
Academic Accreditation
CIWEM undertakes visits to universities to accredit undergraduate and post-graduate courses that are related to the area of water and environmental management. A list of those courses already accredited is on the linked page, along with a brief note on the benefits of accreditation. To find out more, or to get a copy of the Institution's guidelines on accreditation, please e-mail: tom@ciwem.org
